Tri-County Family Medicine Program, Inc. has been developed as a group practice to provide primary care for Southern Livingston County and the adjacent sections of Steuben and Allegany counties. It is different from the usual private group practice which is typically owned and managed by the doctors in the group. Tri-County is a non-profit corporation run by the people we serve. Each town where Tri-County has an office selects board members who are responsible for overall development of the organization. A full-time administrator manages the program under the direction of the Board. The medical staff consists of family physicians and physician assistants who are hired by the Board of Directors.

Family Medicine frequently begins with the delivery of a baby. Obstetrics can be the happiest part of a family practice and is one of the services offered at Tri-County Family Medicine Program, Inc. Child care begins in the hospital with newborn care and counseling with the mother. Regular well baby visits and immunizations are scheduled during the first two years of life. To the family doctor, child care involves seeing a baby grow into a healthy adult and knowing the family and community environment in which all of his or her parents live.
Adult care includes, of course, the treatment of acute illness, chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease as well as emotional and family problems. We urge each Tri-County patient to have a complete physical examination soon after he or she first comes to Tri-County. The initial examination helps us get to know you and to plan your future medical care. Certain diseases can be discovered before they make you ill. Detecting these "hidden diseases" such as hypertension and some forms of cancer is called Periodic Health Screening. Tri-County Family Medicine Program, Inc. has a health screening program which involves periodic checkups.
